„With many years of museum experience and expertise in conservation and restoration practices, I offer the following services.“

  • Replica Manufacturing

Replication is the process of creating an object based on an original model and references. The object should resemble its condition and form at the time of its use, allowing the viewer to gain an impression of its appearance in the past.

Replication of objects is most commonly used in museology, typically for archaeological artifacts, whose originals are often in fragmentary condition.

  • Replica Production

A replica is created when an exact duplicate of a specific object is needed in its current state and form. Often, this involves rare objects that could be damaged if displayed. The replica is not subject to the same restrictions as the original exhibit and can be used as a tactile aid, for example.

  • Digitization, Photometry, Visualization

In connection with the production of replicas, copies, renovation, or restoration of objects, I use all available modern technology. Based on my experience in heritage conservation and museum practice, I know that detailed documentation or visualization is the gentlest and most effective method for:

  1. Documenting the current condition of the object
  2. Visualizing potential modifications or changes before actual implementation
  3. Visualization for digital presentation

All data acquired during digitization can be used both for the presentation itself and for the potential reconstruction of the original in the future, should it be damaged. Additionally, this method can be used to digitize buildings, sites, excavation circumstances, etc.

  • Digitization of the Lombard shield boss
  • Digitization of the excavation context – well timbers
  • Digitization of a museum collection item – butter churn

  • 3D Printing, Galvanoplastics

For the creation of replicas or copies, I use both traditional methods (artistic blacksmithing, engraving, metal casting, carpentry) and modern techniques such as galvanoplastics, rapid prototyping, and 3D printing.

The choice of method depends on the specific object, requirements, and preferences.

  • Models, Dioramas, Miniatures

Lastly, I also create traditional models, miniature paintings, and dioramas on various themes as needed.
